Click to enlargeOld photo from Koppang station, a station at the Røros line between Hamar and Trondheim, depicts railway staff in front of narrow gauge steam locomotive No. 26 Class XVII, an American looking 2-6-0 (1'C) engine. The man in the center is Stationmaster Richard Wilhelm Sanner. Part of the station building is visible at left. Part of an old timetable heading from 1878 is at upper left of stamp. Photo taken in the narrow gauge period (turn of the century), the locomotive shown was built in 1886.

Click to enlargeOld photo from Dovre station, a station at the Dovre line between Oslo and Støren (Trondheim). 3rd Class passenger car #36 at left with passengers waiting at the platform and part of the station building at right. Part of the station building woodcarving decoration (acantus rose) is visible at top of stamp. The photo was taken about 1915, two years after the opening of the station.

Click to enlargePhoto from 1979 of diesel locomotive Class Di.3a No. 619 (built 1958 by NoHab in Sweden) in front of passenger train at Flatmark station at the Rauma line between Dombås and Åndalsnes. This station is now closed down; the station buildings were built circa. 1920-24, but removed in 1984. Part of a stone arch railway bridge called "Kylling Bridge" is inserted at the upper part of the stamp. This is the same bridge as depicted on another stamp issued in 1979.

Click to enlargeAirport Express (high speed train 210 km/h) Class BM71 built 1997-98. The photo of the Airport Express Train is taken at Oslo Airport (a part of the terminal building can be seen behind the train). This high speed train has achieved several national as well as international design awards. Visible at upper left of stamp is the top of a catenary pole designed especially for this railway line.
