Portrait of Frederik Stang (March 4 1808 – June 8 1884). He was a Norwegian lawyer, public servant, and politician. He was the first leader of the Ministry of Domestic Affairs in Norway. He was in great measure responsible for Norway first railway, and during his period as a minister he established both the first railway and telegraph. He also was in charge for the first stamp issued in Norway. In the years 1873-1880 he served as Norway's first prime minister.
