NORWAY: Local booklet cover: Kristiansand 2002

The front cover of this booklet shows a map of the city of "Kristiansand," located on the south coast of Norway. It is the administrative centre of its region and one of the main ports in Norway. At the left side of the map we can see the tracks and buildings on the railway station area, including the former harbour of the railway ferry to Hirtshals in Denmark. Kristiansand is one of the main stations on the Sørland Railway between Oslo and Stavanger, and the original terminal station of the Setesdal Railway, a 78 km (49 miles) long narrow gauge branch line to Byglandsfjord.
This local booklet was issued in connection with "Nordia 2002" a Nordic stamp exhibition. The booklet contains 8 stamps of no railway interest.
