FEMALE OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALLISTS
Winter sport has always had a strong position in Norway. Here are two stamps from a minisheet Click to enlargeof four stamps issued in 1989 in connection to the coming Winter Olympics at Lillehammer in 1994. Bjørg Eva Jensen on the left stamp won the gold medal in 3000 m Click to enlargespeed skating at Lake Placid in 1980. The next stamp shows the Norwegian women team who won the gold medal in 4x5 km skiing cross-country relay in Sarajevo in 1984. The women on the team are Berit Aunli, Brit Pettersen, Inger Helene Nybråten and Anne Jahren.
