Click to enlargeA class El.15 electric locomotive - wrongly stated as "E115" on the stamp. This class was special built by ASEA in a series of 6 locomotives in 1967 to NSB (Norwegian State Railways) for iron ore transport service on the Ofot Railway in northern Norway. These Co'Co' locomotives are commonly used in pairs and have a service weight of 132 tons and a length of 19,8 m l.o.b. In 1996 all six locomotives were handed over to a new company called Malmtrafikk AS (MTAS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Swedish MTAB. MTAS was the first private carrier in Norway with rights to operate on the national railway. This stamp is part of a sheet containing six stamps showing locomotives from different countries.
